A short special called meeting of the Lincoln County Commissioners has apparently set the stage for the ouster of Commissioner Carrol Mitchem as chair of the board.

She is charged with one count of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death and one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Lincoln County Schools will get an additional $6.1 million for fiscal 2025. Lincoln County Commissioners voted 3-2 to approve the full amount for which schools had asked in a joint session in mid-March.
