NEWTON, N.C. - Max Robert Bolick, 85, of Newton passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Abernethy Laurels.

He was born November 28, 1938 in Catawba County to the late Garland and Mildred Hilton Bolick. Max was a member of First Methodist Church in Newton and a member of the National Guard. He retired as Postmaster in Todd, N.C. Max served as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Newton and was a former DJ for WNNC Radio Station.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Bolick and Gerald Bolick.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years Judith Janell Rudisill Bolick of Newton; nephews  William Rodney Abernethy and wife Theresa of Cherryville, Howard Randall Abernethy and wife Sarah of Newton, John Robert Abernethy and wife Betty Jo of Maiden; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Max’s life will be held at a later date.
