LOWESVILLE––The Morrison Sisters will perform a free concert on April 27 at 5 p.m.

The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be that Saturday evening, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.

The Morrison Sisters are based out of Calhoun, Ga. Megan Morrison sings and plays the bass. Kaity Morrison sings and plays the piano and mandolin. An alto, Addie Morrison has the lead vocal duties. They’re all joined by their dad, Wesley Morrison, on the guitar.

Also appearing will be Albemarle’s own Last Hour Bluegrass, a gospel group based out of North Carolina, features a five-piece band with four vocalists. The southern gospel style of vocals with traditional, acoustic music makes for an unforgettable experience. Last Hour was established in the spring of 2021. Since then, they have been playing in churches and venues throughout the Southeast. The name,“Last Hour” has the principal found in John chapter 9. “The night cometh, when no man can work” (John 9:4 KJV) After signing with Morning Glory Records in July of 2023, Last Hour released a single, “He Guides My Way.” A self-titled album is scheduled to be released in July of this year.

The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
