MAIDEN, N.C. - Gerald Horace Williams, 77, of Maiden, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at The Greens at Lincolnton.

He was born January 1, 1947 in Catawba County to the late Horace Burgin Williams and Kinzell Harris Williams. Gerald was a member of Cornerstone Church and retired from CommScope. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Maiden football, and eating out (especially at Don’s Grill).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Meeta McCombs Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son David Williams and wife Jennifer of Newton; daughter Teresa Parker and husband Kenneth of Maiden; brother Jerry Williams of Myrtle Beach; sisters Geneva Keever of Conover; Diana Coulter and husband Jimmy of Maiden; grandchildren Christine Baker (Mark), Wayne Parker, Katlyn Parker, and Burgin Williams; great-grandchildren Jayda Baker, Kinley Baker, and Owen Yount.

A service to celebrate Gerald’s life was held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Maiden. Rev. Gregory Dry officiated. Burial followed at Maiden City Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Church.
