CONNELLY SPRINGS, N.C. - Jay Harold Withers, 59, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

He was born October 30, 1964 in Catawba County to the late Franklin D.R. Withers and Patricia Elizabeth Newton Withers. Jay was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Hickory and was employed in the lawn care industry. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Savory; and nephew, David Darty.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons Josh Withers of Hickory, Jay Withers Jr. of Hickory; daughter Samantha Hubbard and fiancé Donnie Walker; brother James Withers of Connelly Springs; sisters Debbie Johnson and husband James of Connelly Springs, Kathy Lowder and husband James of Hickory; granddaughter Ryleigh Walker.

A memorial service to celebrate Jay’s life will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Gloryland Baptist Church in Hildebran. Rev. Tony Childers will officiate.
