Virginia Gantt Foster

VALE, N.C.—Virginia Gantt Foster, age 97, of Vale, passed away Friday, October 23, 2026, at Peak Resources of Cherryville.
She was born October 28, 1928, in Lincoln County to the late Broner Gamewell and Millie Beam Gantt.
Virginia was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Lanier, second husband, Coyt Ingle, and third husband, Jerry Foster; grandson, Benji Lanier; brothers, Ben Gantt, and Benjamin Matha “Faye” Gantt; sisters, Lahree Powell, Linda Adams, and Hilda Gilbert.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Renee Lanier, grandchildren, Heather and Jason Miller, and Shannon and Mike Harris; great-grandchildren, Chole Frye, Callie Frye, and Laken Harris; and sister, Shirley Hull; and brother, Wayne Gantt.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Matt Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, Vale, North Carolina.
Her family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
