Sue Lee Lineberger Huss
February 5, 1935 - October 18, 2026
DENVER, N.C.—Sue Lee Lineberger Huss, age 91, of Denver, and formerly of Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Pisgah Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Stevens and Rev. Justin Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Huss was born February 5, 1935, in Gaston County, to the late Purva Austella Lineberger and Lela LaFone Lineberger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lineberger, and sister, Joann Gee. She worked as an assistant bookkeeper for Carolina Mills Credit Union.
She is survived by three sons, Donald “Eddie” Huss Jr. and wife Marcie of Columbia, S.C., Michael C. Huss and wife Gail of Denver and Brian C. Huss of Mooresville; and two grandchildren, Whitney Auten and Wesley Huss.
Sue possessed an unwavering work ethic, dedicating herself fully to both her career and her family. When asked what she and Don were up to, her answer was always simple: "Raising our boys." She never met a stranger; to know Sue, even briefly, was to be welcomed into her warmth, love, and care. In her final moments, her parting words were filled with devotion as she lovingly spoke the name of each surviving family member. Sue shared a beautiful vision of God’s glory—describing Jesus Christ in a flowing blue robe with long brown hair, walking along the Sea of Galilee, alongside her departed loved ones in Heaven, all preparing a place to welcome her home.
