LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Serita “Diane” Tate Peeler, age 82, of Lincolnton passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024. 

Mrs. Peeler was born March 19, 1942, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Herman C. Tate and Minnie Odell Chaney Tate.

Mrs. Peeler is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Faye Peeler of the home; sons, Marty Peeler of Crouse and Jeremy Peeler (Ashley) of Casar; daughters, Karen Taylor (Tim) of Lincolnton, Wanda Seagle (Daniel) of Vale, and Pamela Sigmon (Kevin) of Cherryville; grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Nathan Taylor (Julie), Jesse Peeler (Elizabeth), Abigail Peeler, Zola Sigmon, Joshua Seagle (Brooke), Sadie Huitt (Gabe), Lathan Peeler, and Dessie Peeler; great-grandchildren, Iris Perry, River Seagle, and Cyrus Huitt; brothers, Dean Tate (Betty) of Ranlo, and Bill Tate (Ann) of Gastonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Tate Jr. and Howard Tate; sisters, Ila Mae Robbins, Janelle Cook, and Yvonne Butler.

A funeral service for Mrs. Peeler will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Freedom Church of Lincolnton, with Dr. Michael White officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery of Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.
