CANTON, N.C.—Mrs. Nancy Black Mosteller, 76, formerly of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born on March 13, 1950 in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Robert Clarence “Bob” Black and Frances Rhyne Black. She was a retired secretary for an optometrist office. Nancy was a member of Covenant Bible Church in Lincolnton.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Hal Lewis Mosteller of the home; two daughters, Diana Chinn of Canton and Melody Mosteller of Dallas; two grandchildren, Jacob Gray of Charlotte and Andrew Gray of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Barbara Saunders of Denver and a brother, Robert Black Jr. of Florida.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Clarkson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
A private burial will be held in the Black Family Section of City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
