Monty Plato McNeely
June 5, 1944— October 18, 2026
WACO, N.C.—Monty Plato McNeely, age 82, of Waco, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Atrium Cleveland.
He was born June 5, 1944, in Gaston County to the late Durham Plato and Margaret Murphy McNeely.
Monty was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Louise Stout McNeely; and brother, Jack McNeely.
Survivors include his son, Gabriel McNeely.
A Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Matt Thomas officiating. Burial followed at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
