Joan Kay Simenson Strom
August 17, 1932 — November 1, 2026
CHERRYVILLE, N.C.—Joan Kay Simenson Strom, age 94, of Cherryville, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.
Joan was born on August 17, 1932, in Rice Lake, Wisc. to the late Melvin E. and Agnes Kelly Simenson.
Joan was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Flowe; grandson, Evan Strom; and siblings, Jerry Simenson, and Kathleen Simenson.
Survivors include her children, Laura S. Mounie (Joe), Eric Strom, and Chris Strom (Monica); sister, Beverly Bruegal; grandchildren, Christopher Mounie, Michael Mounie, Matthew Mounie (Bridget Warren), Ian Strom, Logan Strom, Graham Strom, Erica Strom, Dylan Strom, Hannah Hudson (Tim), Rachel Burrelson (Grant), Tyler Flowe, and Morgan F. Millier (Nate); and great-grandchildren, Emerson Mounie, Avery Mounie, Salem Hudson, Fraiser Hudson, Brookes Burrelson, Bennett Burrelson, and Weston Miller.
Inurnment will take place at the St. Matthew Catholic Church Columbarium – 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277. November 10, 2026 at 11 a.m.
