Jerry Ralph Houser
March 19, 1942— September 30, 2026
LINCOLNTON, N.C.—Jerry Ralph Houser, age 84, of Startown Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with his family by his side.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Minister Brad Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday in the sanctuary of Salem Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
Jerry was born March 19, 1942, in Lincoln County, to the late William Caswell Houser and Myrtle Roark Houser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ilease Campbell, Ethel Perkins, Dorothy Rudisill, William Anderson Houser, Charlie Clyde Houser, Fred Wilford Houser, Hazeline Link, and Kenneth Myra Houser. Jerry owned and operated convenience stores.
He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, gardening, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, and going to church.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Whitener Houser of the home; son, Mike Houser (Heidi) of Vale, daughter, Chellie Valentine (Mitch) of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Tanner Valentine and Evan Valentine, both of Gastonia, Valerie Smith (Donald) of Hickory, and Emily Gardner of Lincolnton; and two great-grandchildren, Alaina Walker of Hickory, and Ryleigh Kate Dellinger of Lincolnton.
