Geraldine Fay Schrone Anthony
February 14, 1943— October 13, 2026
CHERRYVILLE, N.C.—Geraldine Fay Schrone Anthony, age 83, of Cherryville, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 14, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Ervin Lee and Virginia Brooks Schrone.
Geraldine was a member of Second Baptist Church of Cherryville. She was employed for many years as a lunch lady with Cherryville East Elementary School. Geraldine enjoyed playing rummy, sitting on her front porch, and drinking black coffee. She also loved her Chihuahua, Precious.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Anthony; and her sister, Thelma Heavner.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Turner (Butch); and Michelle Anthony; sisters, Shirley McDowell, and Dorothy Swanson; grandchildren, Kaley Lewis, Kade Lewis, Dalton Allen, and Matthew Allen; and her special friends, the lunch ladies at East Elementary.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2026, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Matt Thomas Officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to her service at the funeral home.
