Ethan Earl Scronce
May 19, 1927— February 19, 2026
LINCOLNTON, N.C.—Ethan Earl Scronce, age 98, of Rock Creek Drive in Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Mr. Scronce was born May 19, 1927, in Lincoln County, son of the late Lee and Hattie Payseur Scronce. Earl was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Scronce is survived by his daughters, Cindy Scronce Hatley (Ed) and Angie Scronce Horne, both of Lincolnton, granddaughters, Jennifer Carroll (Lance), Kim Horne, and Katie H. Shattuck; great-grandchildren, Megan Carroll, Andy Shattuck, and Evan Shattuck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Scronce is preceded in death by his wife, Cora Seagle Scronce.
A funeral service for Mr. Scronce will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Troy Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Daniels Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, NC.
