Notice Of Second Primary Election, Lincoln County, North Carolina

Notice is hereby given that a second primary election for the Republican Party will be held in Lincoln County on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024.

Voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who lack ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. Find out more at BringItNC.com.

Polls will be open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM on Election Day. Voters must go to their assigned precinct on Election Day.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them as soon as they are available. Absentee ballots must be received by the county board of elections no later than 7:30 PM on May 14th, 2024. A voter can fill out an absentee ballot request at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the county board of elections office. The request must be received through the website or by the Lincoln County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. May 7, 2024.

Early voting will be held at the following location from Thursday, April 25th, 2024 through Saturday, May 11th, 2024.

The hours Monday through Friday will be 8:00 AM—5:00 PM.

On Saturday, May 11th, voting hours will be 8:00 AM--3:00 PM Location: Lincoln Board of Elections, Elections Room: 451 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092

All voters who are registered with the political party of the candidates on the ballot are eligible to vote in the second primary. Additionally, voters who are not affiliated with any party and who either didn’t vote in the first primary or voted the ballot of the party for which the second primary is being held are eligible to participate. For example, if a second primary is held for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor, then all registered Republicans and unaffiliated voters who did not vote or voted the Republican ballot in the first primary would be eligible.

  • Republican - NC Lieutenant Governor
  • Republican - NC Auditor

The Board of Elections will meet in its office at 451 Salem Church Road on the following dates and times and other times as may be necessary for the purpose of approving absentee ballot applications:

  • Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 at 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 at 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 at 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 at 3:00 PM
  • Monday, May 13th, 2024 at 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 ELECTION DAY
  • Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 at 5:00 PM Count Absentees
  • Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at 9:00 AM

Canvass will be held on Friday, May 24th, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM in the Board of Elections Office in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
