LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Essie Carolyn Sigmon Kiser, age 89, of Molly Acres Lane in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  At all other times the family will be at Sharon’s home, 1695 Molly Acres Lane, Lincolnton.

Mrs. Kiser was born March 23, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late James William Sigmon and Molly Elizabeth Clark Sigmon.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Kiser; brothers, James Sigmon, Bud Sigmon (Calvin), Lester Sigmon, and Pete Sigmon; sisters, Charlsie Hull, Mae Leonhardt, Edna Figleaf, Mozelle Scronce, Sue Winn, and Catherine Boulerice.  She worked in food service.

She is survived by a son, Terry William Kiser (Carol) of Lincolnton; two daughters, Sharon K. Willis (Larry), and (Shelly), Meachel K. Starnes (Tim) all of Lincolnton; sister, Patsy Boyles of Lincolnton; sister-in-law, Martha Sigmon of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Terry W. Kiser Jr., Anna R. Kiser, Corie Hester Bryant, Dana Rochelle Trinidad, and Larry Shane Willis; six great-grandchildren, Madison Sawyer, Amanda Allen, Jennica Measha Gomes, Sierra Miranda Gomez, Destiny Self, and Caydon Self; two great-great-grandchildren, Rolland Ramarez and Meadow Gomez; and numerous nieces and nephews and the special kids that knew her as Mom.
