LINCOLNTON, N.C. - On April 12, 2024 Lincolnton High School Senior, Vanessa Cespedes, signed her National Letter of Intent to play Soccer for Salem College to further her soccer and academic career.

Salem College is located in Winston-Salem, the city of Arts and Innovation. Salem is one of the oldest educational institutions for women in the United States.  Their motto is “Knowledge and Virtue.”

Cespedes is currently a forward on the Lincolnton Wolves Varsity Soccer team.

Vanessa said “If everything he does is good, then everything he does is for your good. When he changes your plans, it’s because he knows what you do not know and it’s good for you. This is God’s Plan and let me tell you this plan feels just right. Salem is Home and Home is where the Heart is!”

Vanessa is so excited to be on the field this fall playing for Salem! She would like to thank all her Coaches, Coach Tanner and Coach Boziak, Coach Cerdas and her teammates, and especially Coach Gates, the School’s administration and her counselor Mrs. Hambright for being encouraging and supportive.
