LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry’s Christmas fundraiser has brought in some $28,443.82 so far.
That’s the word this week from its executive director, Mitzi Williams. The annual fundraiser is vitally important to the ministry’s mission, as the monies raised help keep the local charity going throughout the year, as Williams explained.
“I would like to remind everyone that we rely on this fundraiser to meet the requests for financial and food assistance,” she said. “Last year, we spent more than $88,000, and we are well on our way to doing that again.
“We are taking applications for toys and Christmas food until Dec. 23, which is our give-out date,” she added. “People can apply for just the Christmas food. We are taking donations of toys and food through Dec. 9, and we are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for donation drop-offs. Our soup kitchen is always open, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for everyone and anyone to eat until they are full.”
