LOWESVILLE––Carolina will perform a free concert, Oct. 22, 6-8 p.m.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be that Saturday evening, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
Cooke also spoke further about this noted septet.
“Carolina, the band, is a high-energy touring group, hailing from both of the Carolinas,” he said. “If you long for the rustic sounds of classic country, reminiscent of the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Carolina is your band. Unashamed of the gospel, passionate about the importance of family and proudly patriotic, Carolina is paving the way for a revival of country music back to its roots.”
The group features tenor Doc Roberts on the keys, Foxie Fox on the drums, baritone Scott Whitener on the rhythm guitar, Chris Parker on both bass vocals and the bass guitar, Andy King on vocals, keys and horns and Mitchell Whisnant and Chris Powell, both on keys and vocals.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
