Call it ecumenical if you wish; or just call it fellowship and worship. Churches in Dallas will be joining together for a community-wide service this Sunday evening at Cloninger Park, located on S. Oakland St., the street that runs north-south by the Dallas Police Dept., south of W. Church St.
The joint venture involving Dallas churches including First Baptist, Dallas Baptist, Walnut Grove Baptist, Plainview Baptist, First United Methodist, First Presbyterian, Restoring Hope Four Square, Fellowship, Holy Communion Lutheran, and Philadelphia Lutheran will begin with food and fellowship at 5 PM. Torres Taqueria Food Truck will be on site and those attending are also invited to bring their own food.
An Outdoor Worship Service will begin at PM. The worship service will feature members of the various churches.
Those attending should bring a lawn chair.
Also happening in Dallas next Saturday (May 21st) is a Community Health Fair sponsored by First Baptist Church. The Mammogram Bus will be at the church, 310 S. Rhyne St., offering free mammograms for women 40+, COVID vaccines and booster shots, and other health screenings. Advance registration is requestee by calling 704-460-1360.
