Air Quality Improving Over Weekend
The smoke from over 400 wildfires in Canada that blanketed the northeastern US and stretched southward into the Carolinas has diminished a bit in our area since earlier in the week and will likely taper off even more over the weekend; but the fires are still burning and the smoky conditions may return next week.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) and the Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection are issuing a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for the entire state for Thursday, June 8.
