Veterans, Active Military, & Their Families Can Enjoy Free Admission This Summer
The Schiele is a Blue Star Museum for 2023

Schiele Museum of Natural History
Press Release

GASTONIA, N.C. – Members of the military are invited to spend the summer with their families at The Schiele Museum of Natural History. From May 20, 2023 (Armed Forces Day), until September 4, 2023 (Labor Day), veterans, active military, and their loved ones can enjoy free museum admission.

The Schiele is pleased to partner with Dignity Memorial to provide this benefit to veterans. “Thanks to the support of our friends at Dignity Memorial, The Schiele is able to honor veterans and their families,” said Dr. Ann Tippitt, Executive Director. “Visiting the museum is a great way to spend time together and create lasting memories.” This is the second year that Dignity is offering free visits for veterans during the summer months.

In addition, The Schiele is one of nearly 2,000 museums across the United States participating as a Blue Star Museum. Through a collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and the City of Gastonia, active military and their families will also enjoy free museum admission this summer.

Military members can bring up to five family members per visit and there is no limit on visits during the summer months. Active military, veterans, and their families can come as often as they would like! For details and ID requirement details, visit schielemuseum.org/blue-star-museums.

The Schiele Museum of Natural History inspires wonder, curiosity, and an appreciation of the natural world, providing the region with a unique educational resource. Visitors to The Schiele learn about the world around them through exceptional programming, fascinating exhibits, and ongoing research. Problems With Our Lincoln Herald Email Link:  We apologize to those readers who had signed up for our free daily email with links to our latest articles.  You haven't been receiving that email recently.  The company that was handling sending out the daily emails with links to our latest articles failed us.  After many talks with them and other companies, we have decided to enter into a new agreement with another company that will provide the platform for the Lincoln Herald as well as other services including sending out those emails.

For now, we have no way to send out the emails.  When the new provider's services are in place (over the next few weeks) we'll ask our readers to sign up for the emails again; they will still be a FREE service.  The new provider has also promised to improve our website, especially the photos we post (which always looked terrible when they are copied to Facebook).

Our new look is coming soon!

In the meantime, you can still read all our articles for free on our website https://www.lincolnherald.com/ and we will continue to post links to them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/LincolnHerald.net, and Twitter @LincolnHerald20.

Thank you for reading the Lincoln Herald.
