CATAWBA, N.C. - Lois Connor Flowers, 81, of Catawba, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
She was born February 4, 1941 in Catawba County to the late Early and Mary Little Connor. Lois was a lifelong active member of Brown’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Catawba, where she served in many and various capacities and roles. Her dedication to her church and family was unfailing. Her gift of caring and giving extended not only to her family but to so many others as well. Lois retired as a machine operator with Commscope after many years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Flowers; son, Melvin McCullough; grandson, Victor Wilkes; great-grandson, Aaron Lineberger; brothers, Arthur Connor, Marvin Connor, Ray Connor, and Walter Connor; and sisters, Susan Forsythe and Pauline Forney.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Charles McCullough of Claremont, Harvey E. McCullough and wife Kennie of Charlotte; daughters Linda Gibbs and husband Rickie of Newton, Lorrie Lawrence of Catawba; stepchildren Garry Flowers and wife Donna of Troutman, Willie Flowers Jr. of Claremont, Bryon Flowers and wife Alicia of Statesville, Selina Davidson and husband Willie of Statesville, Dyanne Howard of Washington, D.C., Yvonne Brown of Maryland; grandchildren Tyron Wilkes, Shannon Clarke, Kisha Lineberger, Devin McCullough, Jabez McCullough, Darius McCullough, Shydarieune McCullough; special friends Estelle Wilson, Emma Moore and Carlin Kale.
A homegoing service to celebrate Lois’ life will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Catawba. Rev. Charles Young will officiate. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
