CLAREMONT, N.C. - William Edward Bailey, 86, of Claremont, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Carolina Caring in Newton.
He was born December 26, 1935 in Gaston County to the late Paul and Lois Fox Bailey. William was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He retired as an electrician, enjoyed traveling, and was fortunate enough to touch every state with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Bailey.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years Ruth Lay Bailey of the home; sons W.E. Bailey Jr. and wife Loretta of Gastonia, Michael Lineberger and wife Paula of Mt. Holly; sister Frances LaFone of Conover; grandchildren Jessica Bailey, Trey Bailey and wife Alexus; great-grandchildren Ava Grace Bailey and Peyton Elise Bailey.
A private memorial service to celebrate William’s life will be held at a later date.
