MAIDEN, N.C. - John Paul Moose, age 81, of Maiden passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.
He was born December 24, 1940 in Catawba County, and was the son of the late Willard and Mozelle Detter Moose. John served in the U.S. Army and a was member of Meadow Ridge Baptist Church in Maiden. He was a member of VFW in Newton 5305 and American Legion Post 240.
In addition to his parents, first wife and mother of the children, Dororthy Jane Hubbard Moose; grandson, Brandon White; four brothers Glenn, Melvin, Leonard and Harold Moose; three sisters, Sue Campbell, Shirley Martin and Wanda Willis preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years Dora Berryhill Moose of the home; son Paul Moose of Maiden; three daughters Teresa Taylor of Lincolnton, Pam White of Hickory, Susan Bryant of Maiden; two sisters Barbara Houston of Conover, Becky Ferriera of Statesville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Meadow Ridge Baptist Church in Maiden with Pastor Arlie Roten officiating.
Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park with Military Rites, American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
