CLAREMONT, N.C. - Charles Randy Hammett, 64, of Claremont passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
He was born June 25, 1957 in Mitchell County to the late Darrell and Dorothy Hill Hammett. Charles was a United States Army veteran and retired from the furniture industry.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Dorothy Hill Hammett.
Those left to cherish his memory is his fiancée Lisa Banks of Claremont; brother Bailey E. (Gene) Hammett and wife Heather of Claremont; niece Erin Rossner of Winston-Salem; and nephew Tyler Hammett of Claremont.
A service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Rev. Eric Hollar and Rev. Morgan Lane will officiate. Burial with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church.
