Fire Departments Seek Fire District Tax Increase May 2017

George "Chip" Sain was the only person
to speak against any of the proposed
increases. Sain said he was the only
member of the Union VFD Board of
Directors to oppose the increase. Sain
said Union wanted to "keep up with
the Joneses" after Howard's Creek VFD
got a new fire station to which he
referred as "the palace." Sain said the
money for a new Union station should
have been raised over several years.
