Notice is hereby given that pursuant to G.S. 163-33(8) that a General Election will be held in Lincoln County on Tuesday, November 8TH, 2022 for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, N.C. General Assembly, State and Local Judges, District Attorney, City and County Offices. All qualified registered voters are eligible to vote in this election. The polls will be open for voting on that day from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. All voters that are eligible to vote will be voting for the following offices:

All residents of Lincoln County who are registered to vote with the Lincoln County Board of Elections may vote in this election. Voters who are already registered do not have to re-register to vote in this election. Residents of the county who are not already registered to vote should register by Friday, October 14th, 2022 to be eligible to vote in this election. A person may register to vote at the Lincoln County Board of Elections office at 451 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, North Carolina between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Any voter who has moved outside his or her precinct but within the county since the last election should notify the board of elections in writing by Friday, October 14th, 2022. Those voters who are not registered by Friday, October 14th, 2022 may register and vote during one stop early voting only, and will be required to provide documentation of their identity and residence. Voter Registration forms are also available on the Lincoln County website at www.lincolncounty.org or the State Board of Elections website at www.ncsbe.gov and can be mailed to the Board of Elections Office at the address listed above.
Voters who require assistance with casting their ballot are entitled to assistance by an appropriate person of their choice or an election official. Registration facilities and polling places are accessible to the elderly and handicapped. Curbside voting is available for voters who are not physically able to enter the polling place.

Any qualified voter may vote absentee by mail. Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them beginning Friday, September 9th, 2022. A voter can fill out an absentee ballot request at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the Board of Elections. Copies of the state form can be picked up at the Board of Election office or printed off the Lincoln County website at www.lincolncounty.org. The request must be received through the website or at the Lincoln Board of Elections by 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 1st, 2022. Ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections by Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 at 5:00 PM OR be postmarked by Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 and received by mail no later than 5:00 PM Monday, November 14th, 2022. The Board of Elections will meet in its office at 451 Salem Church Road on the following dates and times and other times as may be necessary for the purpose of approving absentee ballot applications:

Canvass will be held Friday, November 18th, 2022 starting at 11:00 AM in the Board of Elections Office in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
