LHS, West Lincoln, Bandys & Foard Advance to Round Three

Wayne Howard
Reporter

First, my apologies to our area high school wrestling teams: the Lincoln Herald recently switched email providers (we still have the same email addresses) and I must admit that the new system has had me quite confused. It no longer lets me choose what is junk mail and what is not, and I'm still learning how to navigate its complexities. Some of the local coaches have been sending me emails trying to keep me (and our readers) updated, but I have failed to pass along the info they intended to provide.

Now we're down to the end of the season--the NCHSAA Dual Team Wrestling State Championships are underway, so let's see if we can get things caught up a bit.

In the 2A Duals, both Lincolnton and West Lincoln defeated their first and second round
opponents on Saturday (Jan. 28th) and will advance to the third round and regional finals on Wednesday (Feb. 1st).

While I don't try to keep up with schools outside Lincoln County as fully for wrestling, basketball, etc. as I do for football, I do usually post scores for Fred T. Foard, Maiden, Bandys & Cherryville.

Foard advanced to the third round in the 3A Duals. North Gaston made it to the second round but then lost to West Rowan. Bandys will be West Lincoln's opponent in the third round Wednesday.
