The West Lincoln boys got their 5th win of the season at East Burke Friday night (Jan. 13th). Trailing by a bucket after the first period, the Rebels scored 22 points in the second to take a 32-27 halftime lead and won the game 59-47.

Jordan Truesdale and Gideon Allen both scored 16 points in the win; Lucas Howell and Evan Hartsoe had 7 apiece; Zander Harrelson scored 6, Bryce Beddingfield 4, and Mikalister Anderson 3.

West Lincoln lost the girls game 68-37 to an East Burke team that leads the Catawba Valley Conference with a 6-0 record (12-1 overall). The West girls are now 4-2 in the league, 10-5 overall.

The East Lincoln girls celebrated Friday the 13th with their 16th win of the season--with a loss. East beat North Iredell 50-27. The visitors tried to slow down the game, but it didn't work. East led 30-15 at the half and 46-23 after three periods. For the Mustangs, Hailey McFadden had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and a steal. Emma Montanari scored 10, had 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. Madison Bissinger scored 9 points, Madison Self 7, Ginny Overbay 6, and Kiara Anderson 4. The East girls are now 6-0 in the Western Foothills Conference. North Iredell and Hickory are tied for second with 4-2 league records.

The East boys gave Coach Jon Hancock his 450th career victory with a 60-55 win over the Raiders. After trailing 20-12 after the first quarter, the Mustangs led 32-30 at the break, and 49-38 going into the final period. Houston Hartsell had 16 points, 13 of them in the first half. Palmer Crichton also scored 16. Tyler Mizzell had 7, Keandre Walker and Jackson Fannon 6 each, Carson Engstrand 4, Davis Hill 3, and Mason Simmons 2. East is now 5-1 in the conference, 14-2 overall tied with North Lincoln for second place in the league behind 6-0 Hickory.

North Lincoln won on the road at West Iredell Friday 72-38. Leading 38-20 at the half, the Knights poured it on in the third quarter, scoring 30 points for a 68-27 lead. Kellan Karr scored 21 points; Connor Carson had 16. Ty Sanders scored 8, Reed King 6, Iverson Snell, Ben Cipriano, and Tanner Lineberger 4 apiece; Connor Risse had 3; and Carter Black, Nathan Aberle, and Shelton Washington 2 each. North is now 11-4 overall.

The North girls also won, 44-32. They are 2-4 in the conference, 4-11 overall.

Maiden delighted Blue Devils fans with wins in both the girls and boys games against visiting Lincolnton.

The Maiden girls beat the LHS girls 72-48.

The Maiden boys overcame a 14-13 halftime deficit, scoring 41 points in the second half for a 54-27 win over the Wolves. The win keeps the Blue Devils in a tie for second place in the conference with Newton-Conover at 5-1, behind 6-0 West Caldwell Maiden is 14-2 overall. Lincolnton is now 2-4 in the league, 4-11 overall.

Lincoln Charter's boys beat Mtn. Island Charter 63-46 Friday night. Kelan Flowers had 14 points, Cairo Morales 13, and Xavier Crawford 11. The Eagles are now 4-0 in the Catawba Shores Conference, tied for first place with Community School of Davidson. Lincoln Charter's boys are 11-11 overall. The Lincoln Charter girls play again Tuesday night when both the boys and girls teams visit Community School of Davidson. The LCS girls are 2-0 (12-4 overall), and like the boys, tied with CSD for first place in the league.

The Bandys girls beat West Caldwell 52-46, but the boys lost to the league-leading Warriors 85-46.

Fred T. Foard lost a pair of games to Hickory: the girls by a 74-48 score and the boys 53-43.

Cherryville split with Pinnacle Academy, the girls losing 52-44 and the boys winning 85-62.
