Round One Scores/Schedule

The first round of the NCHSAA soccer playoffs got completed Tuesday. Some games were played Monday, but many were postponed because of the rain.

East Lincoln advanced to round two with a 10 - 3 win over North Buncombe. Blake Swanson and Aidan Morrison each scored four goals for the Mustangs. Jackson Thrap and Landon Graden each scored one. Graden had five assists and Swanson four.

East led 4-0 at halftime and scored six more in the second half.

Now 16-4-3 for the season, the Mustangs will host a second round game with South Point's Red Raiders, the 13th seed in the 3A West region on Thursday. South Point eliminated East Henderson 3 - 1 on Tuesday.

North Lincoln lost its Tuesday game to St. Stephens 4 - 0. The Knights end with a 9-11-2 record. The Indians advance to round two against Franklin on Thursday. Fred T. Foard advanced with a 2 - 0 win at Pisgah on Monday. The Tigers will visit Hibriten in round two on Thursday.

In 2A play, North Forsyth eliminated Lincolnton. The Vikings scored three first half goals to best the Wolves 4 - 1. LHS finishes with a 10-12-1 record.

Lincoln Charter played Monday and won their first round match over Surry Central 2 - 1. Jude Tremblay and Zach Salgado scored the Eagles' goals in the first half. Lincoln Charter's second round opponent will be Pine Lake Prep. The Eagles and Pride are both from the Catawba Shores Conference. The Mooresville team, who will host Thursday's game, won both regular season meetings with Lincoln Charter.

Bandys, who finished in second place behind Newton-Conover in the Catawba Valley Conference, was eliminated on Tuesday. The Trojans lost 4 - 2 to Surry Central. The Red Devils, who were unbeated in conference play during the regular season, won 9 - 0 over Eden Morehead on Tuesday. They'll host Brevard in the second round on Thursday.

Defending 2A champion Shelby wil host East Davidson on Thursday. The Golden Lions won their first round game on Monday 4 - 0 over Walkertown while East Davidson advanced with a Tuesday win 3 - 0 over Salisbury.

In 1A play, Cherryville was eliminated Monday by an 8 - 0 loss to Gray Stone Day.

In other 3A round one games, Hickory won 6 - 0 over Smokey Mountain on Monday. The Red Tornadoes will host Asheville Erwin on Thursday. Forestview beat Northeast Guilford 3 - 0 Monday. The Jaguars will host North Henderson on Thursday. North Henderson eliminated North Gaston 2 - 0 Monday. Stuart Cramer was eliminated Tuesday by West Henderson 2 - 1.

In other 1A games, Thomas Jefferson won Monday 2 - 1 over Cornerstone Charter; Mtn. Island Charter beat Corvian Community 4 - 3; and Highland Tech lost to Union Academy 3 - 0.
