Local players were eliminated in the NCHSAA Girls Singles & Doubles Tennis Championships on Friday; but West Lincoln and East Lincoln are still alive in the team playoffs.  Here's the latest involving local teams:

NCHSAA 1A Girls Tennis Individual State Championships| Friday Results
DOUBLES
Quarter-finals
Kate Flintom & Cara Freiburger (Voyager) defeated Kelly Diaz & Katie Diaz (Cherryville) 6-3, 6-4

2A Girls Championships| Friday Results
DOUBLES
First Round
Chloe Norman & Bailey Huss (West Lincoln) defeated Helen Brockman & Lanah Banares (Franklin Academy) 6-1, 6-1
Quarter-finals
Tara Martin & Evelyn Ruedisueli (East Surry) defeated Chloe Norman & Bailey Huss (West Lincoln) 6-4, 6-3

3A Girls Championships| Friday Results
SINGLES
First Round
Emma Carver (North Lincoln) defeated McKinley Battle (Rocky Mount) 6-1, 6-1
Karsyn Sink (East Lincoln) defeated Annie Lieberman (Terry Sanford) 3-6, 6-3, 6-3
Quarter-finals
Michelle Armani (Swansboro) defeated Emma Carver (North Lincoln) 6-1, 6-2
Luci Falls (Lake Norman Charter) defeated Karsyn Sink (East Lincoln) 6-4, 6-3

DOUBLES
First Round
Brooke Bieniek & Anna Piland (Cape Fear) defeated Natalie Gore & Lulu King (North Lincoln) 6-0, 6-0

The team championship playoffs continue on Monday. West Lincoln, 5-2 winners over Lincoln Charter in the second round, will visit Hendersonville Monday afternoon. East Lincoln will visit unbeaten Franklin in the third round on Monday. The state team championships will be decided next Saturday (Nov. 5th) in Burlington.
