Three first half goals for the Mustangs propelled them to their 15th win of the season, 4-1 over North Iredell. Jackson Thrap had two goals; Aidan Morrison and Helmut Rojas, one each; as East won its 15th game of the season. The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 15-4-3 record, 12-1-1 in the Western Foothills Conference. Their conference record was the same as Hickory, but the Mustangs beat the Red Tornadoes in one of their two head-to-head meetings; the other was a tie. That means East should get the better seed when the NCHSAA playoff brackets are announced Friday (Oct. 28th).
Hickory beat Fred T. Foard Monday 6-0. Foard has one game left to play: at home against North Gaston on Wednesday. Hickory plays a non-conference match at Charlotte Catholic on Wednesday.
North Lincoln beat West Iredell 2-0 Monday. The Knights will play at Statesville Tuesday (6 PM), then finish the season at home against North Iredell on Wednesday.
Lincolnton beat Maiden 6-3 Monday, scoring five second half goals to break a 1-1 halftime tie. It was the Wolves' ninth win of the season. They finished with an 8-5 Western Foothills Conference record, 9-11-1 overall. Maiden will host Newton-Conover on Wednesday (10/26 5 PM). The Red Devils are unbeaten in league play.
East Burke downed West Lincoln 3-0 Monday. The Rebels will host the Wolves on Wednesday (10/26 5:30 PM). West also has a Thursday game, at home against West Caldwell.
West Caldwell beat Bandys 2-1. The Trojans will play at Bunker Hill Wednesday.
Cherryville beat Burns 2-1. Will Allen and Carson Kelly had goals for the Ironmen. Cherryville will host Bessemer City Wednesday.
