North Lincoln will finally get to play a second home game on their new artificial turf field this Friday--and this one will be Homecoming! The Knights have had to play several games on the road that would have normally been home games. Their only home game so far was their game against Hickory on September 22nd. They're the only Lincoln County team playing a varsity game at home Friday night. Lincolnton travels to East Burke; West Lincoln plays at West Caldwell; and East Lincoln plays at St. Stephens.

The game of the week, no doubt, is Bunker Hill at Maiden. The unbeaten Bears had a scare last week, trailing 14-0 at halftime before coming back in the second half. After they scored on their first possession of the third quarter, East Burke scored again to lead 20-6, but the Bears got a field goal to make it 20-9 and then two TDs to win 24-20. Maiden is 6-1, but like Bunker Hill, they haven't lost in the Catawba Valley Conference, and most believe this game will likely be for the conference championship.

Lincolnton still has a shot at a share of the league title, but they'll need to beat East Burke to keep that hope alive. If they do, a win over Maiden next week and West Lincoln the following week could give them a share of the championship if Maiden beats Bunker Hill.

One varsity game--Shelby @ Bessemer City, will be played Thursday night at 7:00.  The others will be Friday at 7:30 PM.  JV games will be Thursday at 7:00.

In JV football, North Lincoln is tied for tops in the Western Foothills Conference. They are 6-1, the same as Hickory. Bandys is tops in the Catawba Valley Conference in JV football with a 7-0 record.
