The Western Foothills Conference has announced its selections for All-Conference in track & boys tennis. Hickory won the conference tennis championship; St. Stephens finished second, Fred T. Foard third, North Lincoln fourth and East Lincoln sixth. Hickory made it to the state championship match on Saturday (May 14th) but lost 5-1.
Hickory had five players named All-Conference; Foard and St. Stephens each had three. North Lincoln and East Lincoln each had one.
From Hickory, Costen Holtzman, Lewis Tate, Clint Powers, Maddox McCleur, and Griffin Lovern were named All-Conference.
From North Lincoln: Liam Carroll
From East Lincoln: Maxwell Patterson
From Foard: Graham Wright, Connor Josey, and Grayson Walker
From St. Stephens: Ajay Swisher, Blake Walker, and Jackson VanBeurden
From North Iredell: Will Cockerham
From West Iredell: Bryson Derting
Griffin Lovern from Hickory was named Player of the Year and St. Stephens' Patrick Smith was named Coach of the Year.
