Lincolnton Police Department Press Release
Lincolnton Police say a fatality on Generals Blvd. Monday evening (Oct. 31st) may have been a medical event.
At about 6 PM Monday, a single vehicle crash was reported at Arbor Run Drive and S. Generals Blvd. Witnesses at the scene said the vehicle came to a stop at the stop sign on Arbor Run Drive, then started slowly rolling across Generals Blvd and into the ditch across the road. The white Nissan Altima was registered to an Oakwood Circle, Iron Station, NC address. The driver, Shon Edward Propst, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police contacted Mr. Propst’s relatives who advised he was being treated for a heart condition. The evidence collected at the scene and information provided to investigating officers suggested the crash was caused due to Mr. Propst having a critical medical incident.
No other vehicles were involved.
