Wayne Howard Reporter
Another area restaurant recently received negative publicity after employees were said to be disrespectful to officers in a neighboring county, so the Bar-B-Q King in Boger City decided to show respect for law enforcement with a special salute on Tuesday (July 19th).
The restaurant used its Facebook page to announce that it would give a free sandwich, side and soft drink to any law enforcement officer who came to the restaurant on Tuesday. The message was seen and shared and the parking lot was full as dozens of sandwiches, sides and soft drinks had already been given away during the lunch hour.
The post was shared and law enforcement officers from as far away as Maine sent a thank you message to the restaurant. The promotion was also received favorably by the community as a whole.
The Facebook post read: "With great honor and respect, BBQ King in Lincolnton, NC would like to offer law enforcement officers a FREE SANDWICH, SIDE & DRINK on Tuesday, July 19th. Thank you for your service, we appreciate and support our friends in BLUE!"
