A multi-agency investigation spanning several months has resulted in identifying and arresting three out of state narcotics traffickers bringing drugs into Catawba County. During this investigation investigators and agents seized over 1100 grams of methamphetamine and 24 grams of fentanyl as well as US currency.
Anglea Marie Gibson of Branchville, SC was arrested on Monday (05/22/2023) and has been charged with two counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Selling a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a School and Maintaining a Vehicle for the Purposes of Manufacturing, Selling or Delivering a Controlled Substance. Gibson ,48, was assigned a $155,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Tuesday (05/23/2023).
Sentrell L. Bailey of Goose Creek, SC was also arrested on Monday and has been charged with Conspiracy to Traffic in Methamphetamine. Bailey,41, received a $200,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Wednesday.
David Shine of North Charleston, SC was arrested Monday and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Conspiracy to Traffic in Methamphetamine. Shine received a $150,000 secured bond and also had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Tuesday.
Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, Hickory Police Department Narcotics Division along with agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) worked jointly during this investigation.
Charges for Trafficking in Fentanyl and other offenses are pending.
