NLHS Teacher Charged With Assaulting A Student

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A North Lincoln High School teacher has been charged with assaulting a student in connection with an incident that occurred on May 15, 2023.

Geoff Harte, 49, of Iron Station was charged with simple assault. He is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old ninth grade student by striking the student with his elbow as they were walking and approached each other in the school hallway.

Following an investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln County Schools, Mr. Harte was charged on May 16, 2023 with simple assault and released on a $500 unsecured bond. His court date is set for June 2, 2023.
