Missouri Woman Killed Monday When Struck by Vehicle

NC Highway Patrol


On Monday morning (Jan. 16th) at approximately 5:50 AM, the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatality in Catawba County on East Maiden Road near Withers Road.  A pedestrian was walking in the travel lane and was struck by a westbound 2017 Ford Explorer.  The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and the roadway was not lighted.

The pedestrian, Tara Faye Heidemann, 38, of Saint Clair, Missouri, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.  The driver of the Ford, Brenda Sigmon, 59, of Denver, was not injured.  No charges are anticipated.
