On Friday Sept. 23rd the Lincolnton Police Dept. received a report of a missing person. Wendy Reddish stated that her boyfriend, William Merrick Carter, has been missing since Wed. (9/21/2022) morning at 10:30 from his residence at 107 Mauney Drive. Ms. Reddish said she was at his apartment with him at that time and she has not seen him since. Witnesses told police they possibly saw Mr. Carter on Wednesday afternoon (9/21/2022) walking on N. Aspen St. in the area of Mauney Drive with another black male who was wearing eyeglasses. Mr. Carter does not have a working cell phone or any relatives who live locally. His destination is unknown but he usually visits the Cardinal One Stop at 1830 N. Aspen St. and Bucksaver at 2118 N. Aspen St. and has been near the area of the State Employees Credit Union on Sigmon Rd. Mr. Carter does not drive a vehicle or have any means of travel. There is no report of him being checked into any hospitals, jails, or other facilities at this time.
His clothing attire is unknown but he is described as being 5'7", 150 lbs, thin build, short black hair with short beard, brown eyes, and has a tattoo on his upper left arm/shoulder of "Chip Mellow."
