A renovated dining area and lobby will be featured attractions when the Hampton Inn Belmont @ Montcross hosts a Network After Hours event for members of the Montcross area Chamber of Commerce Thursday (April 9th) from 5:30 - 7 PM.  The Hampton Inn is located at 820 Cecilia Alexander Avenue, just off McAdenville Road near the Belmont Abbey College exit off Interstate 85.  All Montcross Area Chamber members and those who want to join are welcome.  Prior to the reception, a new member orientation will be held from 4 - 5:15.
CommunityOne Bank in Mt. Holly hosted the Morning Spark breakfast gathering of the Montcross Area Chamber on March 26th at their 701 S. Main Street office in Mt. Holly.  This was the first of three Morning Spark networking events on the Chamber calendar this year.

Visitor & Newcomer Magazine
The Montcross Area Chamber is putting together a visitor and newcomer magazine with information about the Montcross area.  Ads are being accepted from local businesses who want to introduce themselves to visitors while supporting the Chamber's efforts to promote the area through this full-color publication.

Spy Tech Cruise In
The arrival of April means the return of the Spy Tech Cruise In at 25 Glenway St. in downtown Belmont.  Every Wednesday evening from 6 - 9 PM April through September, classic cars converge on Belmont for the Spy Tech Cruise In. The event is free. Owners are invited to come show their classic vehicle while everyone is invited to look and enjoy an evening in  downtown Belmont. Ten restaurants are located within a two-block walk, plus other shops, a park and a playground for children.  You can also see the historic World War Two memorial statue "Spirit of the Fighting Yank" at Stowe Park.  

Decorating & Design Opens in Belmont
Asree Sanders kicked off the Grand Opening weekend for Decorating & Design by Asree with a Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 20th. Decorating & Design is located  at 7005 E. Wilkinson Blvd, Suite K, in Belmont. That's in the shopping center beside Dairy Queen. The shop stocks a wide variety of home accent pieces, and Asree also offers interior decorating services.


Six Mayors Present Chamber Program
The mayors of six cities and towns in the Montcross Area of eastern Gaston County -- Belmont, Cramerton, Lowell, McAdenville, Mount Holly and Stanley -- spoke during a Mayors’ Forum panel presentation at the Montcross Area Chamber’s Business Buzz Breakfast on Friday, March 20th. The program, which was sponsored by CaroMont Health, took place at the Kimbrell Campus of Gaston College in Belmont. Each mayor spoke about his city or town and its accomplishments and challenges and responded to audience questions.

Hester & Payseur Attorneys at Law
Attorneys Jamie Hester and Ann Payseur celebrated the opening of Hester & Payseur Attorneys at Law with a Montcross Area Chamber ribbon-cutting and a large turnout of Chamber members, friends and family. The practice is located in the Glenway Building in Belmont at 100 Glenway Street, Suite A. Hester & Payseur offers a variety of legal services, including wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, separation, divorce, child custody, adoption, child support, family law, guardianships, elder law, special needs planning, and traffic violations for Gaston County and surrounding counties.

Belmont Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Oscar Mvula and Dr. Charles Cooke cut a ribbon to celebrate the grand opening of Belmont Pediatric Dentistry at 420 Park Street in Belmont's Sterling Professional Park in late February. Belmont Pediatric Dentistry specializes in treating children from infancy through teen years and children with special health care needs.

Tasty Ribbon Cutting at Peace-n-Hominy Q Shack
Everyone attending the Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony at Peace-n-Hominy Q Shack enjoyed generous samples of barbecue pork and chicken, plus baked beans, Brunswick stew, three kinds of slaw and all the trimmings. No one went home hungry compliments of owners William and Christine Rienks. The Q Shack is at 403 E. Catawba Street in Belmont and features a large menu of burgers and other dishes in addition to barbecue. The restaurant is open 11-8 Monday - Friday, 7 - 8 on Saturday and 7 - 3 on Sunday.
