Babies know...
Know where they belong...
But adults are not always sure...
Where you belong can change...
You start in a place that seems...
Seems to be working out...
Just as you think your plan is working...
Working to be your right place...
Then the sides fall apart...
OK...
Starting over is not impossible...
You know that because you have done it before...
Not just once...
So you keep on looking...
Looking for the fit...
Where you belong...
Where you fit...
Sometime it is a home...
Sometimes it is a job...
Sometimes it is a relationship...
Sometimes it is a hobby group...
Adults often do not know they are looking...
Looking for that feeling...
That feeling of enter support...
But when it finds you it is powerful...
It fills the empty spaces...
Empty spaces in your heart...
Now age can change your needs,,,
Divorce can change your needs...
Health can change your needs...
Life is often a motivator...
Just when you think you have...
Have the answers...
Life changes your plans...
Most people continue to work...
Work at finding the place they belong...
This may be the prize that keeps...
Keeps us putting feet moving...
Uphill and downhill..
Adults often give up...
Give up temporarily...
But then they find themselves working...
Working again...
Working to find where they belong...
Once you find that feeling...
That feeling of belonging...
If you loose it...
No matter the reason...
You want it back...
As a person ages and retires...
Downsizing often begins...
Looking for that place to belong...
Keeping what is important...
Disposing of unnecessary items...
Disposing of bad memories is...
Is the hardest part...
Adults know its hard work...
Sometimes it takes a life time...
Babies are born knowing...
Knowing where they belong...
They belong in warm arms...
They know where they are loved...
BUT IT DOES NOT LAST...
More About Judge Rembert: WWII made Judge an only child when her half-brother was killed in the war. She lived in a tiny town in South Carolina until she was eight and her Mother went to work. She was sent to a boarding school in Belmont, N.C. From that time on she has lived back and forth in the two Carolinas. They are both home. She was born dyslexic and did not know what the problem was or that it had a name until she was about 45. She was unable to spell so she never put words on paper until she was 65 and had a computer with spell check. She comes from a long line of story tellers and a Mother that taught her much by telling stories. Stories about people and how they faced life and how they dealt with problems. If you read what she writes you may hear her Mother and her Grandmother talking to her. She is thrilled to know that anyone reads her words and finds them interesting. Oh, she is 75 now and she now makes her home in Aiken, S.C. If you like Judge’s writings or would like to comment on them let her know by emailing [email protected]
