Monday off to the doctor’s appointment...
MRI is needed...
Insurance company has to approve...
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...
The pain is awful...
Son is unable to sit, stand or lay...
Can not be still...

Back to the ER...
Emergency MRI is ordered...
MRI is unsuccessful...
Son is trying but cannot be still...
Put in an ambulance and rushed to bigger ER...
Wife and Mother close behind in the car...

Doctors, nurses and helpers take over...
Son is put to sleep...
Vent is put in place...
MRI is done...
Surgery is ordered...
Wife is signing papers...
Son is moved to ICU...

When a Mother looks at a 60-year-old child...
She sees a little boy...
She sees the same little boy that once got bitten...
Bitten by a neighbor's dog...
She sees the same little boy that grew up...
Grew up to be a husband and father...
She sees the same little boy that brought...
Brought real love and laughter into her life...
She sees the baby at changed her life...
February 11, 1963 was the most important...
Most life changing day in her life...
This little boy became her Son...

Looking at that little boy in that ICU...
Hooked up to all those tubes...
All that equipment...
Made the word fear take on a new meaning...

Wife and Mother became a team...
Doctors, nurses and helpers became a team...
We all worked as hard as possible...
The patient worked hard as well...
The prayers came from a huge team...
Prayers are powerful...
Prayers were needed and appreciated...

It has been weeks now...
ER, ICU, hospital room, rehab facility...
Home at last...
More rehab, nurses, antibiotic pump...
Walker, wheel chair and pain...
This infection was a life changer...

It almost succeeded in changing many lives...
All the teams worked together to bring...
Bring him home...
But the fight is not over...
But we will win...

She looks at her Son now and sees...
Sees her little boy grown up...
The Husband and Father that is loved...
Loved by many...

February 11, 1962 God blessed her...
God made him her Son...
God made her his Mother...

More About Judge Rembert: WWII made Judge an only child when her half-brother was killed in the war. She lived in a tiny town in South Carolina until she was eight and her Mother went to work. She was sent to a boarding school in Belmont, N.C. From that time on she has lived back and forth in the two Carolinas. They are both home. She was born dyslexic and did not know what the problem was or that it had a name until she was about 45. She was unable to spell so she never put words on paper until she was 65 and had a computer with spell check. She comes from a long line of story tellers and a Mother that taught her much by telling stories. Stories about people and how they faced life and how they dealt with problems. If you read what she writes you may hear her Mother and her Grandmother talking to her. She is thrilled to know that anyone reads her words and finds them interesting.
