Well folks let’s think about our treasures...
Now your home can be hit by a tornado...
Your home can be destroyed by a hurricane...
It can be blown up by war…
She watched the news and then she looked...
In her dining room is a table and 4-chairs...
It was her Mother's...
Her children had eaten...
Eaten at that table for over 60 years...
First at Grandma's and now at Mama's...

There are 4 paintings in her home...
Paintings her Mother painted...
Priceless cause they cannot be replaced...
The picture of her Grandmother is priceless...
Grandmother was 6-years -old in that picture...
Picture taken in 1900...
It hangs in her living room...

There is her Grandmother's 3-leg table...
It has one of her Tiffany lamps on it...
She has three that match...
She has had them for 25 years...
Her two Curio Cabinets are filled with glass...
Glass items bought at many yard sales...
Yard sales that were visited early on Saturdays...
Much time and gas invested...
Wonderful dirty boxes searched for treasures...

The lift chair in her living room was bought...
Bought when her Mother was in assisted living…
Mother is gone but she used it when...
When she had surgery...
Glad it was still here...
After all she is a senior now...

In the kitchen there is a wooden cutting board...
The board is cut in the shape of a pig...
She is 80...born in 1942...
Aunt Es had that pig before 1942...
She loves that pig...
She uses it almost every day...
There is a set of pot she bought...
Bought for her first apartment...
Cake pans that were her Grandmother's...

She has a number of gifts from her Son...
Son and Daughter in law...
Her mail box...
Glass birds that hang in her kitchen...
They have given many loved items...

Now look around your home...
What would you do if you had to walk out...
Walk out and leave never to come back...
What is the history in your home...
What are the people on your TV news leaving...
How would you deal with your losses...

Pray for these people...
Feel their pain...
Pray you never lose your history...
Humans need history to have a foundation...
Humans need a foundation to build on...

Thank God you have your history today...
Pray you will have it tomorrow...
