LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Beatrice Dellinger Carpenter, age 94, of Lincolnton peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
She was joined in Heaven by the love of her life, Ernest Carpenter; her parents Paul and Ila Mae Dellinger; son Kenneth Wayne Carpenter; son-in-law Buck Clippard; grandsons Bryan and Kent Clippard; brother Paul Dellinger Jr.; and sister Christine Schronce.
She was born in Lincolnton, NC on February 29, 1928, as the oldest of four children. She was a dedicated employee of J.P. Stevens and Tate Yarn for many years.
Beatrice was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend with a gift of hospitality. Her door was always open to friends and family who were sure to enjoy one of her delicious desserts during their visit, take home beautiful flowers from her garden, or a bag full of home-grown vegetables. Sunday lunches with family was the highlight of her week, always having an extra chair for a visitor and an abundant amount of her amazing home-cooked food to fill everyone’s stomach.
Bea was a faithful member of Pisgah United Methodist Church for 73 years with a willing heart to always serve. Singing in the choir, being a member of Happy Timers, Missionary Women and serving as the coordinator for numerous church functions brought her so much joy.
She is survived by her children, Diane Clippard, Gary Carpenter I and wife Donna; her grandchildren and their spouses, Gary Carpenter II (Suzette), Lisa Seger (Kurt), Joy Seger (Karl); and great-grandchildren, Wesley Clippard, Kalebh Withers (Abby), Grant Seger (Meghan), Hope Seger, Clarke Seger, Nathan Seger, Samuel Carpenter, Faith Seger, Aly Carpenter, Jane Seger, Wade Seger, Jed Seger, Luke Carpenter; and several great-great-grandchildren; as well as her brother, Glenn Dellinger.
A service to celebrate her life was held at Pisgah United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. Visitation was held immediately after the service. Burial was at 4 p.m. in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
