LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Peggy Thornburg Heavner, of Lincolnton, entered her eternal home on January 18, 2023.
Born in Lincoln County on November 3, 1931, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Dorus C. Thornburg and Ollie Mae Kiser Thornburg.
Peggy retired from Lincoln Bonded Warehouse after 43 years of service. She was a member of Bethphage Lutheran Church, the choir, and WELCA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne; her husband, Charles A. Heavner; two sisters, Juanita Thornburg Houser and Inez Thornburg Starr; two brothers, D.C. Thornburg, Jr. and Clyde “Wink” Thornburg.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Sarah Heavner Hallman; brother-in-law, Bob Heavner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Rev. Marcus Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the family life center from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
