NEWTON, N.C. - Vance William Bentley, 82, of Newton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
He was born April 25, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Robert Bentley and Addie Smith Bentley. Vance was of the Baptist faith and retired from the furniture industry as a machine operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flossy Snow Bentley; sons, Roy Ingram and Willie Ingram; daughters, Darlene Ingram and Mildred Chester; and grandson, Joey Beaver.
Those left to cherish his memory is his sister Reba Green of Lenoir; stepsons Roby Ingram and wife Doris of Newton, Author Ingram and wife Rita of Lenoir; stepdaughter Maddie Smith of Lenoir; grandchildren Christian Beaver, Jerry Beaver, Floyd Beaver Garland, Patrina Ingram, Clarence Dellinger, Elaine Stillwell, Pearl-May Stillwell, Tammy Dellinger, Barry Love, and Danita Love.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Vance’s life was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton, NC.
