LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Cathy Crump Howard, 73, of Lincolnton passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at her residence.

She was born February 22, 1949 in Guilford County to the late Bill Crump and Charlotte Jones Setzer. Cathy was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden and enjoyed going to church, singing and reading her Bible. She was employed with Abernethy Laurels, Food Lion at Westport in Denver, and retired from Jones Fish Camp.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John “Bud” Howard; brothers, Jim Crump and Joe Crump.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Christopher Todd Howard and wife Marlo of Newton; daughter Heather Howard Alexander and husband Todd of Lincolnton; brothers Mike Crump and wife Deanna of Ellenboro, Jody Campbell and wife Heather of Vale; sisters Vickie Campbell and husband, Terry of Lincolnton, Susan Jarvis of Lincolnton, Cindy Crump of Lincolnton; grandchildren Candace Goins, Brianna Howard, Madison McCall, Jaxon Alexander; and great-grandchildren Alissa Goins, Chloe Goins, Christopher Goins.

A service to celebrate Cathy’s life will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 4 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Jeff Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Those serving as pallbearers are David Goins, Marty Reep, Ronnie Crump, Jeff Crump, Jeff Korn, and honorary pallbearer Jaxon Alexander.
