LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Franklin Delano “Budgie” Rice, age 83 of Heavner Road in Lincolnton died Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with the Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence and the Rev. Dr. Dixon Free officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Rice was born on August 1, 1938 in Gaston County to the late A.R. and Verdi Tabor Rice. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Gilbert Rice and two sisters, Shirley Nantz and Helen Rice. Mr. Rice was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Rice is survived by his daughter, Paige Rice of Lincolnton; and one sister, Ina Phyllis Rice of High Shoals.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Backpack Ministry, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
